CrossbowsSince 2004 crossbows have been classed as “prohibited weapons” in Victoria and require an exemption from the Victorian Chief Commissioner. The SCA has applied for a group exemption but have not received notification of a decision as far as I am aware of. At the time of the submission there was some sort of amnesty while it was being considered. Does this mean that SCA members can or cannot use crossbows in Victoria ? I'm not sure, so I would be cautious ! Look at it this way, if you were stopped by the police do you have enough evidence (paperwork) to show that you can legally carry and use a crossbow ? Are you prepared to go to court and face up to 6 months in prison or a fine of up to $12,270. The Aussie BOD has been asked clarify this with the Vic Justice Dept, and I believe that they have started making inquiries. Resources | |||
