Arrowsreach's archery training is held prior to the Shire's Tournament Day from 11.00am to 1.00pm on the third Sunday of each month. Following the training session an archery tournament will be held as part of the Shire's Tournament Day.
Arrowsearch offers a $20 starters package containing 6 SCA legal combat arrows and 2 Sunday training sessions on top of the normal freebies to assist new players. If you are interested in a package please Jason Tate via seneschal@arrowsearch.com as the arrows are not stored on site or you can purchase the arrows at our Monday night's meeting. Combine the starters package with Arrowsearch's loaner bows (2 bows) and its a simple way to commence archery.

Since 2004 crossbows have been classed as “prohibited weapons” in Victoria and require an exemption from the Victorian Chief Commissioner. The SCA has applied for a group exemption but have not received notification of a decision as far as I am aware of. At the time of the submission there was some sort of amnesty while it was being considered.
Does this mean that SCA members can or cannot use crossbows in Victoria ? I'm not sure, so I would be cautious ! Look at it this way, if you were stopped by the police do you have enough evidence (paperwork) to show that you can legally carry and use a crossbow ? Are you prepared to go to court and face up to 6 months in prison or a fine of up to $12,270.
The Aussie BOD has been asked clarify this with the Vic Justice Dept, and I believe that they have started making inquiries.
